Renault Body Parts
There is no such thing as "a Renault panel" here, because these cars came from three different countries. The Triber is Indian-made, the Sandero and the second-generation Duster came from Romania, and cars.co.za records that the Captur sold in South Africa was sourced from Renault's Valladolid factory in Spain. On the first-generation Duster, which switched from India to Romania mid-life, the same guide notes the Romanian cars appear to have had better rust-proofing and paint.

Body Parts, explained
There is no such thing as "a Renault panel" in South Africa, because the cars did not come from one place. Tracing it through the South African press gives you three separate origins in the current used parc.
The Triber is Indian-made
The Triber is Indian-made, on a modified CMF-A platform, and the Kwid and Kiger come from the same Indian industrial base. The Sandero was imported from Romania, and every South African-spec second-generation Duster was built at Dacia's Mioveni factory there. And the first-generation Captur sold here came from somewhere else again — cars.co.za states the South African Captur was sourced from Renault's Valladolid factory in Spain.
That is not trivia, because build origin can show up in the metal. On the first-generation Duster, which switched from Indian to Romanian production partway through, cars.co.za observes that the Romanian-built cars appear to have benefitted from better rust-proofing and paint quality. The same guide tells you exactly where to look on an early car: the tailgate hinges, the A-pillars, the rain gutters, the door sills and under the bonnet.
Donor supply
Donor supply is the other thing that shapes what we can find. The Captur has an awkward gap in it — the first-generation car stayed on the market here until around the third quarter of 2021 with severely limited stock, and the second-generation car only arrived in March 2023. Eighteen months with no new cars entering the parc means fewer donors for both.

Why two identical-looking Renaults take different body parts
- What you are really deciding
- Which country your particular car was built in, and whether it is pre- or post-facelift.
- Where Renault differs
- These cars came from three different places. The Triber is Indian-made, the Sandero and the second-generation Duster came from Romania, and cars.co.za records that the Captur sold here was sourced from Renault's Valladolid factory in Spain. It shows in the metal too — on the first-generation Duster, which switched from India to Romania mid-life, the Romanian cars appear to have had better rust-proofing and paint.
- Where the car was built
Renault does not build its South African range in one place, and that decides which supply chain a part comes down. The Triber is Indian-made, on a modified CMF-A platform, and the Kwid and Kiger come off the same Indian industrial base. The Sandero was imported from Romania, and every SA-spec second-generation Duster was built at Dacia's Mioveni plant there. The first-generation Captur sold here came from Renault's Valladolid factory in Spain.
It can show up in the metal, too: the first-generation Duster switched from Indian to Romanian production partway through its life, and cars.co.za observed that the Romanian-built cars appear to have benefitted from better rust-proofing and paint quality.

- The paint code from the door shut, the year, and which side. With that in front of us we can normally settle the right body parts without a back-and-forth.

Body Parts — what customers usually ask
Where can I buy used Renault body parts in South Africa?
From breakers and used-parts specialists, which is what we do — we source against your derivative rather than sell from a fixed shelf. What matters most in a body-parts enquiry is precision: the model, the year, whether it is pre- or post-facelift, the paint code, and which side. A bumper from a facelift car will not sit on a pre-facelift one, and a photograph of what you need saves more time than any description.
Does it matter where my Renault was built?
It can. cars.co.za observes that the Romanian-built first-generation Dusters appear to have had better rust-proofing and paint than the Indian-built cars that preceded them, which is worth knowing when you are inspecting a used panel or assessing your own car. It can also affect which variants of a part exist, since production sites do not always run identical specifications. We work from the VIN, which settles it.
Should I buy a used bumper or a new aftermarket one?
It comes down to fit and finish against price. A used original bumper is the right shape and the right plastic, and if it is your colour it may need no paint at all. New aftermarket bumpers are cheaper but fit varies by supplier and they will need painting regardless. For a common model in a common colour, used is usually the better outcome. For something scarce, aftermarket may be the only route.
Do I need to know my paint code?
It helps enormously and it takes a minute to find — the plate is in the door shut or under the bonnet. With the code we can tell you whether a panel we have is your colour, which can mean the difference between fitting it yourself and paying for a spray job. Without it we are matching by description, which is unreliable in the same way that "dark blue" is unreliable.
How do I check a used panel before I commit?
Ask for photographs in daylight from several angles, including the back of the panel and the mounting points — that is where damage hides. Check that the mounting tabs on a bumper are intact, since broken tabs are the most common reason a used bumper is not usable. Ask whether it has been repaired or resprayed before. We would rather send you photographs and have you say no than ship something you are unhappy with.
