Renault Kiger Spares
The Kiger reached South Africa in September 2021 with the most tangled gearbox story of any Renault we handle. The naturally aspirated 1.0 came with a five-speed manual or a five-speed automated manual; the 1.0 turbo came with a five-speed manual or a CVT. Four combinations under one badge, and a CVT part is a turbo-car part only.
Local engines: 1.0 naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol and 1.0 turbopetrol 3-cylinder (HR10DET).

Kiger Spares: the things that actually decide fitment
The Kiger has arrived in South Africa as one shape but four drivetrain combinations since September 2021, the naturally aspirated 1.0 with a manual or an automated manual, and the 1.0 turbo with a manual or a CVT, and that on its own changes the answer.
Ask about the gearbox before anything else on a Kiger
Ask about the gearbox before anything else on a Kiger. A CVT only ever came behind the turbo engine and the automated manual only ever behind the naturally aspirated one, so “Kiger automatic” describes two entirely different transmissions depending on which car is standing in the driveway, and the two have almost nothing in common mechanically.
There is a second trap in the timeline. The Kiger launched here in September 2021 as Life, Zen and Intens with both engines available, but the updated range introduced towards the end of 2025 was naturally aspirated only, and the Turbo returned separately in March 2026 in Techno and Iconic trim.
That means a Kiger of a given year is not automatically available in both engines, and an owner who says “mine is the turbo” has narrowed the year range as well as the engine without realising it. Tell us the year, the trim and whether the car has a clutch pedal, and the four combinations collapse to one.

Track down the generation code for your Kiger. It is on the VIN plate, and it is on the original registration paperwork if you still have it.
- 2
Nail down the engine. This market got 1.0 naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol and 1.0 turbopetrol 3-cylinder (HR10DET) in the Kiger.

Send us both, along with the spares you need and the engine code off the plate, or the VIN if you cannot find it. The matching happens before we quote.
The Kiger shares the CMF-A+ platform with the Nissan Magnite and the Triber
Sourcing note: the Kiger shares the CMF-A+ platform with the Nissan Magnite and the Triber, and cars.co.za records its HR10DET turbopetrol as the same unit fitted to the Magnite and to the Clio V. That is the single most useful sourcing fact on this site, because it is rare to get a local publication naming an engine code and the other cars it went into in the same sentence. The Kiger and the Magnite go further than the engine: local coverage of the two describes them as sharing a platform, a plant and the same dimensions.
What none of that establishes is which individual parts interchange, and the bodywork is where the two cars were deliberately made to look nothing alike — so we treat the engine bay as a place worth searching and the panels as Kiger-only until a supplier tells us otherwise, which widens the net when local stock runs thin.
Locally, the Kiger is mostly a young urban crossover, so most of what we are asked for is accident and service wear rather than the tired-engine work the older Renaults bring in. The fleet only starts in late 2021, which means a fair number of these cars are still inside a warranty or a service plan and the enquiries we get tend to be for panels, lamps, mirrors and glass after a knock, rather than for anything that has worn out on its own.
That is the wear pattern we source against, and it is why we ask what the car does rather than only what it is.
