Renault Kadjar Spares

Your Renault
The part you need

The more you write, the faster we come back. Say where on the car it sits, and copy across any numbers stamped on the old part. At least 20 characters, please.

Picking “whichever” usually gets you a wider set of options back.

How we reach you

The Kadjar had the shortest life of any Renault on this site. It launched here in 2016 and the last local units were registered in January 2018, after which Renault stopped importing it and put the larger Koleos in its place. Every one sold here was turbocharged, and the 1.6 dCi came only in the four-wheel-drive car. Two model years of stock is exactly the situation a stripping yard exists for.

Local engines: 1.2 turbopetrol 4-cylinder, 1.5 dCi turbodiesel and 1.6 dCi turbodiesel (4x4 only).

Kadjar Spares: the things that actually decide fitment

What shifts across the years

Owners are often caught out by how much rides on the generation code, and the Kadjar ran barely two model years, from the 2016 launch to the last local registrations in January 2018 here.

Every Kadjar sold here was turbocharged

Every Kadjar sold here was turbocharged — AutoTrader records the 2016 launch range as three models, all of them turbocharged — and the 1.6 dCi came only in the four-wheel-drive Dynamique, so engine and drivetrain are locked together on this car more tightly than on any other Renault we cover. The 1.2 turbopetrol is the one that carried the seven-speed EDC dual-clutch, and a 1.5 dCi joined the range roughly three months after launch.

Trims were Expression, Dynamique and Blaze

Trims were Expression, Dynamique and Blaze. All of that fits into a window of about two model years, which is the real problem with this car and also the reason a page like this exists: carmag.co.za records the last local units as registered in January 2018, and Renault South Africa stopped importing the Kadjar in September 2018 in favour of the larger Koleos. A model that was here that briefly never built up a local parts pipeline, dealer stock thinned early, and owners are routinely told a part is unavailable when what is meant is that it is unavailable new.

With a pool this small the derivative has to be right first time, so give us the year, the trim, the engine and whether it drives all four wheels — all four, not the first that comes to mind.

The Kadjar sits on the CMF-CD platform

Useful to know: the Kadjar sits on the CMF-CD platform, the same family as the second-generation Koleos and the Nissan X-Trail, which is where we start looking once Kadjar-specific stock runs out — and on a car that was here for two model years, it runs out often. There is a closer link than that on the four-wheel-drive car specifically. Reviewing the 4WD Kadjar in 2016, cars.co.za described its 1.6 dCi as a carryover unit from the Qashqai of the day, which makes a Nissan the more promising place to hunt for that particular engine.

Read that narrowly: it is a statement about one engine in one derivative, not a claim that a Kadjar is a Qashqai underneath or that panels and trim cross over. On a model with this little local stock, a sourced lead on one engine is still worth a great deal.

What we check on spares

  • •The generation code — the Kadjar parts list splits on it
  • •Which engine you have; this one was sold with 1.2 turbopetrol 4-cylinder, 1.5 dCi turbodiesel and 1.6 dCi turbodiesel (4x4 only)
  • •The engine code off the plate, or the VIN if you cannot find it
  • •Where the car sits either side of its facelift

Locally, the Kadjar is mostly an orphaned crossover, usually owned by someone a dealer has already told that the part is no longer coming. That changes what a useful answer looks like: an honest “we can find that but it will take a while” is worth more to a Kadjar owner than a fast maybe, and it is what we would rather give. That is the wear pattern we source against, and it is why we ask what the car does rather than only what it is.

If you are not certain which Kadjar you have, send the VIN off your licence disc and we will work it out.
